Triple focus: our approach to Executive Interim Management

Few companies are completely static, and almost all undergo periods of change during their lifecycle. At Elite Executive Interim Management we manage these changes by focussing on three core fundamentals: carefully screening all new Interim Managers; providing ongoing coaching for Interim Managers; and liaising closely with clients. We call this approach Triple Focus.

1. IM Recruitment. Of our pool of almost 1500 Interim Managers, most have been selected and screened by our partners, InterExcellent in Holland. Recruitment is by no means straightforward. Only highly experienced candidates can be considered suitable, and all must be able to demonstrate records of achievement that can be independently verified.

Career diversity is also important. We look for Interim Managers who have pursued a variety of avenues throughout their work history. We believe that the experience thus gained makes for well rounded individuals who can integrate readily into new work environments and begin quickly to implement strategies for success.

2. IM coaching. Coaching consists of two separate but closely related prongs. On the one hand, we provide a full suite of backup and advisory services to Interim Managers when they are on assignments. On the other, we organise seminars and workshops to keep IMs abreast of business-related issues during periods when they are not working.

In particular, experience has shown us that comprehensive briefings and one-to-one tutorials with Interim Managers before they start new assignments can sharply increase the success rate of clients' projects.

3. Client Focus. Client Focus, or Assignment Management, refers to the series of steps we take to steer IM projects from their initial conception to their ultimate, successful completion.

Perhaps the most important step is the first one as it is at this point that client objectives are discussed, clarified and refined. Efficiency and effectiveness are further enhanced by monitoring and feedback sessions that take place for the duration of the assignment.
